Stalden is at the bottom of Switzerland near to Zermatt and the Matterhorn. Access by car or train is easy from all points in Switzerland but also going up from Milan in Italy. Think again if you expect all year round snow! This area is very warm and dry from March until October, the local summer occupations are outdoor swimming and walking. In the winter there is easy access to the slopes in Zermatt and Saas Fee but for a lot less accommodation cost. For those travelling by train the Interlaken area is an easy hour away and makes a great day out. The Italian Lakes are another day trip to think about.
